Series of guided rotations and movements emphasizing posture, balance, breathing and proper technique. Learn to embrace the ability of water to aid in safe and enjoyable exercise and its benefits to self growth. Limited use of equipment (noodles). Use body to increase resistance.
Quiet instrumental music.
Step It Up

Builds on the basics from Rise & Shine. Increased intensity and speed of movement.
Additional equipment (noodles, weights, balls.) Continues to emphasize self growth in a safe and supportive way.
Beginners Strengthening Class with Denise (30 min):
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays 10:00AM Gravity Vault. limit 12 people
Intended to introduce bands, light weights, and balls for resistance on land. Most exercises will be seated with progression to supported standing exercises as able. Appropriate for all ages.
Beginner Water Aerobics with Denise (45 min):

Light to moderate exertion. Focus on aerobic exercise including walking, jogging, strengthening, and stretching activities. Appropriate for all ages.
Therapeutic Yoga with Amanda (45 min):
Wednesdays 10AM Gravity Vault limit 12 people. (1/21-2/25)
Gentle mostly seated stretching incorporating breathwork for improved range of motion, mobility and relaxation. Appropriate for all ages.

A fun, low-impact water aerobics class choreographed to music. Exercises are designed to improve cardio endurance, core and muscle strength, balance, flexibility and range-of-motion.
Level: Low/med.
Nutrition as it Relates to You (30 min):
Wednesdays 11AM. Gravity Vault limit 8 people.
Round table discussion with Ed addressing individual nutritional needs. Class limited to the same 8 participants for a 6-week session. 6-week commitment requested
Instructor Bios
Claire Farnum, BA, BSN, MS
Claire is a counselor and health care professional who is passionate about water exercise. She has experienced the power of exercise in rehabilitation. She enjoys leading classes with older athletes and exercise enthusiasts, some of whom have been through PT or live with health conditions. She is certified as an Aquatic Exercise Professional with AEA and an Aquatic Exercise Program Leader with the Arthritis Foundation.
Elizabeth (Liz) Louie, CTRS
B.S. Recreation & Parks Management, West Virginia University. 36+ year career as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist primarily in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation settings. Trained in American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Adapted Aquatics and Lifeguarding. Arthritis Foundation Water/Land exercise and self advocacy programs. YMCA swim instructor for developmental lessons and special populations.
Jaclyn Martinac, PTA, TPS
Jaclyn Martinac is a Personal Trainer and Quality of Life Coach with advanced certifications in Aquatic
Exercise (including Ahi Chi) and a background in physical therapy. As a Therapeutic Pain Specialist, she
helps clients move better, manage pain, and live with greater comfort and vitality — on land and in water.
